Hi Tom,
The light different between the OM 1-4n and the OM 2-4 was 1.5EV. The most
important things is the 1-series screen are very coarse, it works poorly
with small aperture telephoto lenses or telephoto with a 2x convertor (such
as 200F4 + 2x). Also, the brightness different seems bigger when the
aperture is smaller.
Sorry for posting the wrong Canon FC name, it should be E-C (there is no E-S
screen), the Bright Laser-Matte. The brightness of this screen is similar to
Minolta, it possess no grid, with finer matte.
To summaries the FCs, my subjective comments are:
2-4 - Best for telephotos, not good for wide angles, not good for DOF
checking.
E-C - Very good for telephotos, okay for wide, good for DOF.
Minolta - Good for telephoto and very good for wide, very good for DOF.
2-4 - Poor for telephotos, good for wide, very good for DOF.

Beattie?
Thanks, Ling.
I gather from the EV readings that the difference is less than a stop
(1 EV).
Does anyone have experience with the E-S screen?
