I've been impressed by past comments on this list about Tamron's 90/2.5
macro, and I've spent some time shopping around for one. I've seen some
used equipment dealers list both a Tamron 90/2.5 Macro and a Tamron 90/2.5
Macro SP. Are these actually two different versions of the same lens, and
if so, what is the difference?
Second question: I'd like to go 1:1 with this lens, so I'd need to get a
2xTC (or maybe there's a compelling reason to spend a little extra for the
90/2.8 and skip the extras?). Wiliam Wagenaar (are you out there?) in a
past post commented that the Tamron 2xTC was a "pain" with the lens and
Adaptall, and recommended considering an OM mount TC. Can anyone recommend
a particular 2xTC for an Olympus 2N or 2S and a Tamron 90/2.5? Has anyone
used Olympus' 2x-A teleconverter in this set-up, or is there a better
choice out there?
