For that matter, it's a good idea to handle even regular incandescent
lamps with a paper towel or cloth so you don't transfer oil to the
surface. The oil will heat up, and in the case of Halogen lamps, will
DRASTICALLY reduce life. On the other hand, a drop or two of vanilla
essence on a regular incandescent (NOT HALOGEN!!!) will wonderfully
suffise in a room ;-)

And if there is a "fan only" setting, it SHOULD NOT BE USED, unless it is
to cool a blown lamp so can change it and proceed with the show.
