Well what I was trying to get across was that the 1.2V of the NiCd has little
to do
with the flash capacitor getting fully charged. AA alkaline cells eventually
get
down to that point and are still usable.
In my 283s and my Canon 540EZ the flash seems to recycle faster with freshly
charged
NiCd or NiMH then with new alkalines until they begin to get near 1V per cell.
The NiCd and NiMH don't do as many cycles but they get recharged not thrown
away.....
