Ron,
In this case, it means that there are one or more shorted cells in the NiCd
battery pack, preventing full battery voltage from reaching the battery check
circuit (at least while it is off of the charger). It's time to replace the
battery insert.

Dear John,
Sorry this reply is a bit late. I wonder if you could clarify something for
me about the Nicad control pack 2. The only time I can get my "check" light
to blink or stay lit is when the unit is hooked up to the charger. When the
pack is hooked up to the motor drive itself, the light does nothing when the
check button is pushed, even if the pack is fully charged and functioning.
Is this normal? Thanks.
