I just dug out my old OM-10 brochure, which refers to a "Mode-Override
Safety Device" thus: "Even if you forget to switch the selector dial to
ON, a special safety device will ensure proper automatic exposure of your
pictures". I can vouch for the fact that it works, as I regularly used to
forget to switch the camera on! My OM-2 manual also says that
auto-exposure will work in the "off" position, but adds this note: "The
difference between the automatic exposures in the OFF position and the AUTO
position is that the OFF mode exposure stops at 1/30 sec maximum to save
battery exhaustion..." This doesn't seem to apply to the OM-10.
Cheers
