Foam rubber is used to dampen vibration and resonances - since most of the
foam lining of my headphones crumbled away they sound hollow and echoey -
and I was wondering whether any perceived differences between OM-1 models
may be attributed to state of their foam. When it goes gooey or hard it must
absorb internal vibration less effectively.
Just a thought.
