The Steadicam units that operators strap to themselves like a 'third arm'
don't have any gyro-stabilising, but depend on the camera being accurately
balanced right on its centre of gravity. in fact, they need to be re-balanced
during a shoot to accomodate film moving from one spool to another and thereby
shifting the CoG ever-so-slightly.
