Good luck. FWIW, I'd recommend staying far, far away from the Minolta: their
scanners all will only work with an Adaptec SCSI controller, and to me, this
spells broken SCSI implementation. Who knows what else doesn't work and
should?
I have the original HP PhotoSmart. It does pretty well, though the biggest
problem I have is getting a dust-free scan. It can be donw if you work
carefully. Whatever you get, go get Phil Hamrick's VueScan software, at
http://www.hamrick.com ...Phil's done an excellent job of making fast,
simple-to-use software.
