1. Cheapest: An adapter with a hot shoe on one end and a PC connector on the
other.
2. Best: A TTL Autoconnector Type 4, which screws into the shoe location,
and a TTL Auto Cord T 0.6m to connect it to the socket on the left side of the
flash. You will get flash ready/confirm signal in the viewfinder.

Both work in all modes. The 5-pin socket is for dedicated cords, as in 2 above.
