I just got a nice deal on a 300/4.5 via eBay, but two things perplex
me:
1) The previous owner was obviously a smoker - other than leaving the
lens out of the bag for a week or so, is there a good way to get rid
of smoke smell on a lens?
2) At the back of the lens, there is an area covered by some sort of
felt-like material between the back element and the lens mount. There
is some fiber and lint in this area that won't easily give up to my
lens brush. Is there a good way to clean this area, or should I just
not worry about it?
