I've been using the 2X-A Tele converter lens along with the
38 macro and auto bellows. I install the tele converter to the
camera and then the bellows & then the lens. I get some outrageously
sharp magnification. Lighting is done thru the T-10 Ring Flash.
I find it is most important to make sure everything is tight on the
macro stand and that the bellows is locked just right. I replaced
the original locking blocks with some newer ones. Mirror lock-up
does not seem neccessary because the only signicant light is from the
flash. I'm more concerned with slight bellows movement on critical
focus. I ofcouse use the Varimagnifier. I mostly shoot micro
processors either in package or off the wafer. I've also shot diamonds
for identification. I'm guessing my magnification is well over 10x
or more. I shoot at about f8 or f11 and sometimess 22. I can't really
tell if this makes much difference.
Has anyone else used the 2X-A in conjunction with the 38 macro or 20
macro?
