I replaced both batteries ........ even though they both registered a full
1.5v each.
The problem still exists exactly as before. When I took the lens out and
looked inside the body the mirror goes into the up position and does not
release until I engage the 1/60 or B manual positions. The battery tester
does not work either and neither does the "illuminated" shutter speed
readout in the vewfinder.
Do I have fried circuitry? I'm off to the repair depot........and maybe a
large bill :-(( Meanwhile back to my 1960 trusty all mechanical never yet
broken down rangefinder.... :-))
