Yeah, I can relate. My Nikon friend says it's useless and calls it the
'darkening button'. Any way, that's why I said 'slowly', you can see
the changes better that way. And, with a 2 series screen, it's better.
But I usually use the foreground/background object distances to detrmine
hyperfocal anyhow.

BTW, this friend, I've been photoing with for years. A month or so ago,
we photo'd Yosemite. he had occasion to look thru my 4T, which has a
2-series in it. He was amazed at how bright it was.
