I think it could damage the shutter (exp the OM's non-metal curtains) but
you should use self-timer (or mirror lock-up) on the same time. No, I will
not do such a test with my OMs,

BTW if UV rays can pass thru the lenses why Nikon has an (expensive) UV lens
made of crystal elements? I think the answer should be in the wavelenghts,
but which?
