Glen,
I bought a used OM-4 about two months ago, and it's been just fine.
So far the batteries it came with have continued to work. I have
followed advice from the list to store it with the speed shut to B or
mechanical 1/60, but I certainly can't be bothered taking the
batteries out. The only reason I can see for having a 4-T is that it is
newer and it works with the full synchro flash. Maybe I got lucky, or
maybe my batteries are about to give out any minute. Anyway, I've
been happy so far. I'm not a heavy user, and aside from a quick test
roll of film which came out great, I'm just about to complete another
roll. I used to use an OM-1, however the light meter is now dead, so
it's been relegated to astrophotography. Except for not having a
lock up mirror, I like the OM-4 better. As far as I can tell, I've made
a good choice with the OM-4. Hope this helps.
