On the question of multi coated and singled coated Olympus OM lenses:
All of my Leica M lenses [35/50/90/135mm - 1960 and 1970 vintage] reflect
yellowish / purple but no distinctive green light at all. In fact they
reflect very much the same reflections as in my 135mm / f3.5 E.Zuiko. I have
never once had any concern over the resolution and performance of my M
lenses so I am wondering if the OM colour reflections are a "trade mark" of
the Zuiko lens technology or whether the colour reflection is indicative of
Japanese camera lens / optical technology as a whole. Back in the early
1970s I bought a Pentax with a 50mm SMC lens in Hong Kong at which time
Pentax was really promoting its super multi-coated lenses so I assume that
MC lenses are nothing new but I have never heard the issue raised as far as
Leica lenses are concerned.
Is there anyone on the list who can offer anything definitive on this SC /
MC / colour relection Olympus lens issue?
