I think it comes down to two factors:
1) How important is a fully manual camera to you? If you're primarily
shooting antarctic expeditions, or taking timed exposures, this could
tilt the scales in favor of the 3Ti. Of course, you might also
consider a couple of OM-1s for backups, since they can be had for
roughly 100f the cost of a 3Ti.
2) How important is having automatic exposures to you? If you shoot a
lot of action photos (sports, wildlife, etc.), or shoot in rapidly
varying light conditions, the aperture preferred exposure can mean
there's one less thing you need to worry about to get a good picture.
In this case the 4Ti may offer an advantage.
That said, the clear and obvious answer to a real Zuik-o-phile is "3
*OR* 4? Why not 3 *AND* 4?"
