Hi Paul,
I'm sure I'm among the majority of users, but not among the majority of
folks who talk up preferences in focusing screens when I praise the lowly
1-13. I find it to be bright enough and it offers three ways to focus.
Having a round thing in the middle doesn't affect my ability to compose (at
least I don't think I can blame my ability on that), and I occasionally use
the horizontal line of the split prism to get the camera level (in a pinch)
with the horizon (provided the horizon is the ocean!). Have tried others.
It's my fave.
Cheers,
Joel
