Hi Paul,
Raiding camera stores? Sounds like you've reached stage IV Zuikoholism. By
far, the most serious stage. It can only be satisfied by visiting every
single camera store within a 20 mile raidius of your hotel. Here's a few
addresses from my "little black book" of Chicagoland camera shops. Most are
close to where you'll be.
Oak Park Camera (Now owned by Helix)
1053 Lake St. (heart of downtown Oak Park)
Oak Park, IL
A classic old neighborhood camera store. A must visit if you like to search
through the junk bins. I haven't been there since Helix took over so it may
have changed. They always had a moderate selection of used Oly and some NIB
accessories.
PJ's
662 Roosevelt Rd.
Glen Ellen, IL
Used to be an OM System dealer but no more. Always a few used Oly items.
Holiday Camera & Video
1822 W. Rosevelt Rd.
Broadview, IL
Haven't been here but their yellowpage ad says they've been around for 48
years. Probably a good bet.
And if you have time, you should not pass up a visit to Helix's main store,
310 S. Racine in Chicago or Central Camera at 230 S. Walbash.
Hope you get your fix.
