John,
I actually have an XA and an XA2 with the same problem. I have
got hold of one of these cylindrical bearings. I see a cavity
in the top of the XA2 which would allow the bearing to sit upright,
perpendicular to the top of the camera (it has a screw head at the
bottom). However I cannot seem to get it together so that it will
work. I think the bearing always slides down on to its side.
As for the XA I don't see anyplace at all to hold the bearing.
