The aperture ring is forward of the focusing ring on the Zuiko, and is the
same diameter.
The aperture ring is ribbed metal; the focusing ring is the usual
diamond-pattern rubber.

No, but he was a know it all camera salesman with a lot of bad information.
Especially about OM.
Is the aperture ring fore or aft of the focusing ring on the Zuiko?
The Tamron is aft.
Aside from that and a different type of grip material it measures the same.
