Thumb rule: all leica format lenses designed till seventies' are at their
best around f/8. Some among recent design lenses are at their best from f/8
to wider apertures, till full aperture in some real excellent designs. This
regarding sharpness in ideal conditions. But in real life you may get more
sharpness by more DOF or (on the other side) by shorter times...
