Another satisfied OM-2S owner here.
Having read all of the other comments in this version of the digest, I
think you can get the picture. Mine isn't exactly mint-looking, so in my
usage, it tends to be the "battle camera body" of the lot.
Pluses: the spot meter, the built-in flash shoe and TTL connector (doing
away with the only bit of OM-1/2 absurdity that I can think of), metering
isn't affected by the focusing screen, the 1/60th sec. mechanical shutter
speed, plus all the other OM good stuff.
Minuses: the flash ready light problem (already discussed) and slow
operation with the motor drives. The battery drain situation is something
that John Hermanson is better qualified to discuss than I; suffice it to
say that I don't change batteries very often.
regards,
Mahlon

Subject: [OM] OM 2S
Hi Everybody,
I may be buying a fairly new (read used) OM 2S - any major hiccups I should
look
out for? I've read some recent threads about the problems associated with
this
model and why Oly yanked it off their catalogue; do we have any satisfied
users on
this list? Please contact with your experiences.
