Here is the final lens from my recent testing. It is kind of a sleeper in my
book. Edge performance falls off with increasing focal lengths, but the
center performance is remarkable. The 15 elements in it hurts contrast, but
doesn't hamper resolution. I couldn't be sure about the nature on the
coating. It is possible there is a mix of some multicoated elements with
mostly single coated elements in this example (i.e., third color reflections
were very few).
This seems like a good lens to take along with a 35-70mm f/3.6 Zuiko in a
minimalist type setup. Adding a 135mm f/4.5 Macro would help in situations
where edge to edge sharpness is required in the short telephoto range plus
macro capability. Add a 50mm f/1.8 MC for speed and a 24mm and a 300mm f/4.5
and . . . you are back to lifting weights again!
