Well, using Olympus components the MD-1 with Ni-cd pack is about the
same size as I winder, I think. You could also use the control grip
plus remote cord. Then only the motor drive is on the camera and the
battery pack is somewhere else (in your pocket perhaps if it's coooold
out) linked to the drive by the cord. This also obviously cuts down on
vibration because the trigger finger doesn't need to touch the camera.
