Hey, my OM-2S does the same thing! I've always thought that the cause of
this was a fragged-out ASA resistor at the high end, but since I never use
that end of the scale, I chose to ignore it.

Maybe John H. can shed some light on this?

Subject: [OM] OM-2SP vs Delta 3200

Hi all,

Being normally an APX25 man, I'm not used to the characterisitics of OM
meters with fast film. I seldom use anything faster than ISO100, but I've
been trying some Ilford Delta 3200, and in low light was getting meter
readings (both auto and manual) of around 1/30 at f2.8 on my 2SP. However,
I've since discovered that I get the same reading with the lens cap on, and
the meter appears to work happily enough; adjusting the aperture produces a
corresponding repsonse in the shutter speed, yet there's no light! The
problem's not unique to this body either, I checked with my OM-4. So, has
anybody any experiences with using OM meters in low light with fast film?
Is this a typical response? The result, having processed the film, is a
lot of very under-exposed negs :-( There's obviously a minimum light level
at which the meter works, which is fair enough, but there doesn't seem to
be any indication of when this point has been reached. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Richard
