George, I take it you´re aware of the flash ready light modification
with which the flash is powered by the flash batteries instead? If
not, I´m sure John H can explain more about it. BTW, mine is not
updated with this. I had a complete circuit board replacement done.

Indeed. I remember the day when I had bought it and the feel that this
must be THE ULTIMATE CAMERA. Never again will have I have to buy
another camera... :-)

P.S. Well, I must admit that I did eventually buy another camera as
well. I bought the IS-3000....
