Hello all,
concerning serial numbers, there is the manufacturer Tokina, who used to
start the serial numbers with the two digits of the year of manufacturing
the lens. They did so at least till 1988, nowadays they have another
system. So if you buy a used Tokina lens from the seventies and eighties
(and early nineties ?), you can see the exact age engraved on it. The same
applies to Russian and Ukrainian lenses and bodies, they still use this
system.
