After removing any large pieces of dust or dirt, I breathe on the lens
and wipe it with a micro-fiber cloth. (I like the Luminex, but there are
other good ones.)
These cloths _really_ lift the grease. My 16mm fisheye had grease on it
that I couldn't get off even with Freon. The Luminex lifted it all off.
You do not need benzene or any other solvent.
It bears repeating that you _must_ remove anything that might scratch
the lens before you start rubbing.
The basic principle of lens care is to try to _keep_ the lens clean so
you don't _have_ to clean it.
