Iris claims to have contone ink-jet technology, but their basic printer is
about $50,000 -- hardly consumer grade!
Iris prints are the closest printer technology I've seen to photographic
paper, even under a loupe. If you have an opportunity to look at one, do
so! You can order them from several vendors.
