[OM] OM2n s/n above 300,000 more desirable?

Hi, all :-)
I'm soliciting the knowledge of the group on this one:
I just came across a couple of msgs. in the rec.photo newsgroups referring to
the serial numbers of used OM2n's. Other than purely later date of
manufacture, is there another reason to pay close attention to serial numbers?
