Where I live, the pawns are a so-so source compared to the others, still
better than most Ebay end-bids. The smarmy feeling one gets there is
another question. I can't stand the stench of misery around those places,
but others can...

A Rabbi friend told me I was very good at "hondeling" after accompanying
me once on the garage sales years ago. From the context, I assume it was
analogous to "haggling", but I like the sound of the word.
