It works exactly like when you repair your bicycle tyre.
We have a lot of experience with that, here in Holland ;-)
When rubber cement glue is applied (thin!) on both surfaces, you will
have to let it dry for a few minutes (approximately 3-5).
After that you press both surfaces together and it will stick. No
pressure needed for more than a few seconds...
