ONLY if the CCD stays at the same temperature. For every 6 deg C of
temperature drop, the dark current goes down by a factor of *2*. Since
commercial chips are not temperature regulated (in commercial digital
cameras), then their dark currents vary with temperature. However, the
point is mostly moot, since expousure times for non-astronomical
subjects are so shore that dark current isn't a factor.
