Certainement mon brave.
You wind the film on and cock the shutter (not that I ever forget, no not
me sir! - well perhaps about 500f the time); you turn the longer lever
more than 90 deg anti-clockwise (away from the lens) to cock the timer; you
move the little lever underneath towards the lens to set it going.
If you forget to cock the shutter first the timer will buzz and come to a
halt. If you then cock the shutter it will release very quickly and take a
photo of your nose. However, you can re-cock the timer, cock the shutter
and settle down for the shot that you meant to take.
