I have been using the "Kirk" plates (also have the lip) for some time now, and
have them on several lens & accessories, 300 mm f 4.5, 85-250 f 5, Auto Tubes,
Focus rails, Winders, Motor Drive 1's w/ M18 as well as NiCad M15's and
winders. Personally, I think they are great and do not interfere with the DOF
button. But, BE WARNED - Count all those little 1/4 x 20 holes in ALL your
accessories. I think they multiply once you commit to this system. Read -

Have you used these with different accessories, such as motor drives, 250
film back, tripod rings, and bellows? I've seen photos of them, and while
the "lip" is a great idea for a body, it would seem to limit the plate's
use on other accessories. >>
