Hi Richard, glad you asked. Just yesterday I picked up my OM2 with it's MD2
and NiCd Control Pack to shoot some backyard flowers - it was dead as could
be. It had been freshly charged and put away about two or three months ago. I
did a little research thru internet photo links and did come up with a couple
of references to the fact that the nominal discharge rate of NiCd batteries
should be on the order of 1%/day. In my case that may be true but I don't
know for sure since I don't know when it went dead. Certainly your experience
of one week is way below the expected shelf life. I hope some of the other
list members will speak to this subject.
