Hi fellow Zuikophiles,
yesterday I found out that I must be in an advanced stage of zuikoholism
already. I couldn't resist this deal, even if there was/is no immediate
'rationalizable' gain from it.
Well, I've picked up an Olympus 1.4X-A (Ex+?) for the equivalent of US$100,
although I dont yet have the 300/4.5 to match it with, let alone any of the
other applicable exotic lenses mentioned (250/2.0, 350/2.8 and so forth). Now,
to local standards that is a very good deal (trying to rationalize now!) and I
will find a reasonably priced 300/4.5 someday....
With no means of trying it out on a lens, I'd like to ask the collected source
of wisdOM here two questions:
Is it OK, that this thing rattles? Both aperture levers work nicely and return
to their start positions when agitated, but the sound is a bit distracting, as
it sounds like a loose spring or a few balls of a ball-bearing gone astray.
And secondly, the TC came without a front-cap. Was or is there any such thing?
I'd imagine it would have to look like a modified body-cap, as it would have to
cover the protruding front element too.
TIA for any answers,
Soenke, Hamburg
