Thanks Lars.
I figured that it would l be rather expensive. Since I´ve seen used 75-150
zooms for 750 SKR I guess it would not be such a good idea to have it repaired,
especially since it is an early production (SC?) zoom and I probably can´t
expect to get my money back anyway if I sell it later on.

Exactly. As far as I can remember I´ve always have had this problem with it.
The conclusion from earlier discussions on the list about this seemed to be
that later production 75-150 zooms were improved, and that there were many
users on the list that were quite happy with their 75-150 zooms.

Yes indeed, but if I would point to one weakness about it I would say it is
prone to internal damage if abused in any way. This applies of course more or
less to all zooms when compared with primes due to their many elements, but I
think it is especially true about wide angle zooms.

I bought my 28-48/4 used for 600 SKR about ten years ago from someone I didn´t
know and without guarantee. It was nice but I was not completely satisfied with
the focusing. The feeling was that something was wrong inside but it was not of
the magnitude that I could make the seller to take it back. Suddenly and to my
knowledge without any particular abuse the zoom ring got completely stuck and I
had to send it to Olympus service in Malmö. I think the repair cost was 1350
SKR, and I thought then that this could be afforded since I had not paid so
much in the beginning. Luckily I have had no regrets, since I practically got a
new zoom. Focusing and zooming is superb and images are very sharp and
contrasty. If this is the way a Zuiko zoom should be I have no hesitation to
buy more, if I only could afford the money that is :-(
The result from the repair of this zoom practically restored my faith in Zuiko
lenses in general and zooms in particular.
