Looking carefully thru the front I see on one of the blades a small 'streak of
obviously oil' on one shutter blade. Thru the back all look normal.
Even though the shutter seems to 'snap back' nicely - I would assume that any
oil will slow the shutter response and so throw off the exposure - or is a
very small amount OK for a while? I can still return the lens - but this is
one focal length that I would really like to keep for indoor museum shots
while traveling
Maybe John can tell me what the cost of a lens overhaul is?
