The sad thing about the OM-77/707 is, in retrospect, I think Olympus was
pretty close. They made some admittedly significant, but I think correctable,
mistakes. They showed that the Zuiko mount was/is upgradeable to include
electronic connection to the camera. Had they included manual focus and
aperture controls on the AF lenses, and made a body that provided meter
readouts with manual focus lenses, I think they would have had a winner and
the OM system would be much stronger today.
Perhaps a new series of AF lenses with the above modifications, attached to a
modified IS type body... Nahhhh...
IMHO, of course...
