Ken, congratulations to your wife - and yourself, of course.
I wonder how many lenses have been acquired by members of this list
with a major justification being to capture images of ones offspring?
I know I acquired a 135mm f2.8 largely for this purpose however the
180mm gets used far more these days. I think you need some distance
between you and the subject to get out of the childs immediate sphere
of attention otherwise you and your equipment becomes the focus of
attention. "Ohhh, whats that dadys got - can I see how it works?"
My T32 and its 2m sync cord are my son's favourite "toys" amongst my
kit - grrrrrrr.
