Hi Gary LA:
<< My experience with 2 California camera shows are that the prices (by
dealers)
are lower than Shutterbug but higher than Ebay closing prices. An OM1 with
50mm might be $200 to $250 in Shutterbug, $150-175 at a camera show, (I saw
one for $130 banged up) and $120- 150 on Ebay. >>
You are comparing apples and oranges here. Two of these represent asking
prices and one selling (or more precisely "buying") price. Just because
someone is asking a price doesn't mean they get it.
Not everyone selling at camera shows are "dealers." And most certainly not
everyone is well versed. A buyers job is to be smarter than most sellers and
loyal to those who are equal or better in knowledge and charge a fair price in
exchange for the goods AND value added services you need or want.
