I admire your bravery to connect an "no-name" flash to your OM-4. Some
of this flashes provide a very high (several hundered volts) trigger
voltage, hopefully it´s not just luck (low voltage) but a good voltage
protection inside of your OM-4 which saved your camera.
I tested your setup, the OM-4 didn´accept the combination of TTL flash
and PC sync cord, an OM-4Ti did.
Is it a bug?
Generaly Olympus don´t recomend the simultanious use of different flash,
Quick Auto (high voltage) won´t work with T-series, F280 (3-4 volts)
don´t work with T-series (8-10 volts).
And what is the benefit of using an TTL and a non TTL flash? For the
ilumination of the background, I would recomend the use of an slave
flash trigger.
