Answering Paul Schings' question, the B&K Astrofocuser is a new product less
than a year old, definitely still in production and advertised in the small
ads in the back of Sky and Telescope. The maker is:
B&K Products, 500 E. Arapaho Road #611, Richardson, TX 75081, U.S.A.
I have no connection with them, but they sent me a sample and I tried it
out. More information, including an optical diagram, is in my forthcoming
book, Astrophotography for the Amateur (which has quite a lot of Olympus
trivia, actually). The basic idea is that you use a standard telescope
eyepiece (1.25-inch-diameter tube) together with this device to make a super
eyepiece magnifier. The disadvantage is that the Astrofocuser occupies the
tripod socket on the camera, so you have to be using a telescope or lens
that is supported separately.
