Andrew,
Welcome to Zuikoholics anonymous.
Since your lens is NOT a Zuiko, an answer is not mandatory! <g> But I'll
try anyway. The only experience I have with a macro zoom is my Zuiko
65-200. It features macro at the 200 focal length only. To use it, I must
zoom to 200, then turn focussing knob to focus closer than normal. Yours
may or may not be same. Just try focussing close at various focal lengths
and see what happens. macro mag is short for magnification. A good macro
lens will go to 1:2 which means the image on a 35mm slide will be 1/2 life
size. 1:8 or so is probably more realistic for your zoom, meaning the
image is 1/8 lifesize.
Hope this helps. Have fun.
