Thanks, Chris. I think the scan would be good to have for Greg's
doc archives if you decide to do it...
I sort of figured out most of it, but didn't know about the 1/40s on
manual aperture mode. It appears mine has a sticky aperture, as it
sometimes does not open beyond about f/8, even when lighting
should require it to be wide open. Also, I'm not sure how well the
meter cell is working, or if it is the cause of the first problem.
(I've been testing by watching the aperture as I point it at different
light levels.) The problem also seems to be related to the shutter
release - if it doesn't pop back to full height, the following shot will
be made with the same aperture. A quick release of the shutter to
return it to full height seems to reset things and the meter
responds accordingly. (possibly this is the only problem?)
Does the camera drop to 1/40 in auto mode as well?
The test roll showed the following results with ISO 100 b/w film:
Outdoor sunny/16 shots on auto were 2+ stops overexposed.
Indoor flash shots at f/8 with T20 set at f/8 were perfect.
Outdoor shade shots on auto were very good.
I'm impressed with how solid this little camera is, but suspect mine
has some problems. Alas, if I sent it back, I'd still be out $15-20
taxes, etc, so I'll probably keep it.
