The 100mm f2.8 came in Type 1"C" regular coating, with the silver trim
filter ring.
Type 2 nomenclature is "NMC" which might stand for "new multi coated", with
all black filter ring.
The 28 2.8 was made in only the multicoated version. Parts lists do not
refer to this as an NMC simply because it was never available with a
regular"C" coating.
