In principle: No. In practice it is a little trickier. The resistor
must give the correct voltage drop at the current drawn when the
meter is indicating correct exposure.
I would not be surprised if this current turns out to vary between
production batches of hte OM-1.

Maybe. However I think the resistor will do things to the metering
off nominal zero, so the indications for 1/2 and 1/1 stop over and
under will no longer be correct. It may be an insignificant effect.

The nice thing about the diode solution is that it does not need
individual camera measurements for the modification. This is a
great virtue when you modify tens of cameras.
